The biggest argument for doing so is that a title victory at the Royal Rumble is what Rollins needs if he is to ascend to the next level. He has been on the cusp of main event stardom for months now—and it's time for him to break through the glass ceiling once and for all.

A victory over an established main eventer like Lesnar or Cena on a major pay-per-view—even a tainted one—would help do that.
It's also worth mentioning that, after Rollins' high-profile loss to Cena at last week's TLC event, the former Ring of Honor star is in real danger of going stale. If he doesn't cash in his title shot, and win, soon his career could pay a heavy price.
He could risk ending up like Ryback or Dolph Ziggler or any other star whose main event prospects were doomed by WWE’s unwillingness to pull the trigger on their push.
Let's face it: It's time for the company to reclaim his momentum and officially begin Rollins' first world title reign. If it doesn't, it could truly sabotage him long-term.

There's another compelling reason to book Rollins to interfere at the Rumble.
Frankly, another Lesnar vs. Cena bout is a woefully dull prospect—the two have already faced each other three times in singles main events since Lesnar returned to the company in the spring of 2012.
As one fan sarcastically remarked:
While their program has certainly had its good moments, it is truly exhausted by this point.
Shocking everyone and having Rollins storm in and cash in his title would be a good swerve and add interest to an otherwise boring match.
It's also perfectly consistent with the star's Machiavellian persona. Judging by Monday's Raw, Paul Heyman thinks he has some sort of friendly alliance with Rollins, but Rollins double-crossing him and running in to take advantage of Brock's tiredness after he pins Cena is a scenario entirely consistent with his character.
The ending of Night of Champions also highlighted the former Shield member’s willingness to step on Lesnar if it meant getting his hands on the prestigious title. This may have been very, very smart foreshadowing.
Will Rollins cash in at the Royal Rumble?
This development would also potentially set up a Lesnar face turn and a program with Rollins over the title—a rather interesting and fresh new booking prospect.
Ideally, Rollins will cash in at the PPV and begin the next stage of his career. But don’t be too surprised if WWE gets cold feet come the show and keeps him out of the title scene. The bookers have been making so many missteps lately it’s hard to expect to fully succeed with Rollins, supremely talented as he is.
